You might be a young Red Dragon, but are you up to the Ignite Challenge?
In a nutshell, the Ignite Challenge is a month-long competition taking place in March among young alumni classes (2005-2014) at SUNY Cortland. It’s measured in participation numbers, not dollars. The class with the highest number of total participation points wins the challenge.
The group’s grand prize is more than bragging rights. It has the potential to make a lasting impression on SUNY Cortland — in the form of a $10,000 gift to the winning group’s most popular gift designation, thanks to a very generous anonymous donor.
For example, if the class of 2010 leads all classes with 100 participation points, and the most alumni in that group support the Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department, a $10,000 gift will be made to that department in the class’ and Foundation’s name.
There are a couple important challenge stipulations to keep in mind that can improve a class’ participation numbers. You can read more about them on a page that lists important days and dates.
