What is the #CortlandChallenge? 

During the #CortlandChallenge alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of SUNY Cortland all over the world come together to make a difference for the College and for current students. All gifts made on March 6, 2019, between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EDT, will count toward the #CortlandChallenge.

Where does my money go?

100 percent of your gift will go directly to the on campus cause you designate it to. There is an added bonus of giving during the #CortlandChallenge. Your gift will also be counted toward challenge goals that will unlock larger gifts made by alumni and friends of the College that will go directly toward supporting SUNY Cortland.

How do the challenges work and who are the donors?

There are 3 types of challenges going on throughout the day. The first is the overall donor challenge. Every unique donor on March 6, 2019 will count toward unlocking challenge money that has been promised to the College if we hit those goals. There is a total of $25,500 available if we hit our ultimate goal of 1,385 donors on the day.

The second type of of challenge is the Athletics Challenge. A group of alumni donors have contributed $10,200 to create a little competition among our Red Dragon athletic alumni. Each team has a donor goal to meet during the day and prize money will be given to the teams that meet those goals. New this year is our Res Hall Challenge. This challenge is open to all current SUNY Cortland students living on campus. The residence hall with the most unique donors will win a pizza party for their whole building courtesy of the Student Alumni Association.
