Frequently Asked Questions by Alumni
print

Here are some very common questions the Alumni Engagement team receives from our graduates. We hope it is useful.

How do I get SUNY Cortland/Alumni Association information sent to me?

Information and alumni benefits are provided to those graduates who keep their alumni record up to date. We are happy to share news, alumni invitations and other benefits with your commitment to stay in touch.

I haven't been back to campus in years, what do I do?

There is a very comprehensive guide of the Cortland community and the campus. Check out the visitors guide and be sure to make a stop at the Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House.

What is my Red Dragon Network ID number?

Your member ID will be in the footer from all emails you receive from the Alumni Association. If you cannot locate it, please go to the Red Dragon Network help site to submit the following information: your name, class year, last mailing address we have on file, phone number, birth date and major. We will provide your member ID number after your request has been verified, within 2-5 business days.

How do I connect with alumni?

The Red Dragon Network is your place to reconnect with friends and grow your alumni network. Our alumni online community has a lot of features, including a database of alumni who have registered their accounts with us. As a Cortland alumnus, you are able to join the network and search for grads by region, career and much more. Visit www.RedDragonNetwork.org, select the register button, search for your name and enter your ID number. If you no longer have an email with your Red Dragon Network ID, no worries, just follow the instructions on the right hand side of our help page. Once you are in, you can visit the online directory and select the advanced search to search by location and career. We have started adding tutorials to our YouTube channel to help you use the Red Dragon Network even more.

How do I find a classmate?

To search for friends and classmates, please register/login to the Red Dragon Network and use the alumni directory. Alumni may reach out to fellow Red Dragons based on what the alum has made public on their profile. There are options to email graduates using the Red Dragon Network, which allows friends to use the system to contact alumni and not give away their email address.

We are not able to provide anyone with contact information for alumni by law. We can contact fellow graduates on your behalf and share your contact information.

When is my Reunion?

The next Reunion is July 6-9, 2017. Visit the Alumni Reunion page under the Events tab for event information, hotel accommodations, reunion committee information and much more. Future Reunions dates are available until 2020.

When Will I Receive Reunion Registration packet?

All the Reunion information is available online prior to any mailing. The program is shared in late February and the registration materials are sent in May.

How can I get Cortaca tickets?

The Red Dragons will take on the Ithaca Bombers on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at noon at Ithaca College. Tickets are $10 each and are limited to two per alumnus. Tickets are first-come, first-served and must be purchased online prior to Oct. 25, 2017. The SUNY Cortland Alumni Association also hosts more than a dozen regional viewing gatherings and provides information for in-home streaming. Visit the Cortaca website to see the full list of offerings.

How do I get an official transcript?

Transcripts can be requested by visiting the Registrar's website . Requests for transcripts are sent directly to the Registrar's Office. As part of the comprehensive transcript fee, there is no charge to alumni for transcript ordering when using the standard transcript process.
