Academic Hall of Fame
Candidates for Academic Hall of Fame membership are considered by a committee consisting of faculty members and administrators from the College’s three schools: arts and sciences, education and professional studies. Student representatives from each school may be recruited for committee service as well. A representative from the Alumni Board of Directors Awards, Scholarship and Recognition Committee also serves on the committee.
Candidates must have the following criteria:
- Be graduates of SUNY Cortland who maintained grade point averages of 3.5 or higher as undergraduates or 3.7 as graduate students.
- Made a significant contribution to society through their chosen profession.
- Graduated more than 10 years ago.
Nominations are welcome at any time and should be sent to the Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences.
The following awards are conferred by the Alumni Board of Directors and chosen by its' Awards, Scholarship and Recognition Committee. All nominations are active for a three-year period and do not have to be re-nominated during that time frame. If a given nominee was not chosen during the entire three-year period, they may wait one year to be nominated again. The 2017 nominations must be received by Alumni Engagement by February 12.
